It is not clear if they are going to initiate a name check again. This could be associated with when your fingerprints get invalidated. If they initiate a fresh fingerprint (for what ever reason) without refreshing the existing one, that could trigger a name check. So that could be why they have a secondary check on preadjudicated cases.

Yes. Every single day spent outside the country can be taken into account. Even though, I was never in danger of reaching the 6 year period, when I applied for my 7th year extension, USCIS did include 6 weeks of vacation time to my approval.

I-140 belongs to the employer only, so it is up-to them to disclose the details. Unless you change employer without using AC21 clause, I-140 details won't be necessary.

I was just wondering if they stall the 485 processing once they issue an RFE on EAD. Would they hold the case in abeyance or are these two mutually exclusive.
Btw, am not sure of the reason for RFE yet.
Has anyone had their 485 approved with an RFE pending on EAD or AP?

"I would like to hear your professional opinion on the following issue: I have been on F-1 visa for 7 consecutive years. I have an employer that has sponsored me as a Graphic Designer. In fact I have obtained the I-140 through him already. I recently applied for employment AOS (July 25th) with my wife (She is on F2 visa) and I'm currently waiting on the Notice Receipt. School starts on August 20th and I'm hesitant on when exactly the new Immigrant Status starts. Do I still need to enroll for classes in order to maintain my visa? I don't intend to finish school due to financial difficulties, when exactly may I drop out from school? Should I remain enrolled up until I receive the EAD and AP? Thanks in advance for your response."

VFS site mentions that whole of Andhra falls under HYD jurisdiction. Probably it means that applicant if he/she going for visa first time, may not take appointment at other consulates.
Also, SF Indian consulate clearly mentions that they do not provide any services to short term visitors that includes visitors....

I am on H1 & my H1 (& visa stamping) expires in Apr 2009. My wife has H4 stamped on her passport until Apr 2009.
My wife got her H1 approved in 2008 lottery with permit to start work starting October Ist, 2008.
We are planning to take cruise to Bermuda from sep 28-oct 5. I just wanted to know ,
a) will her H4 stamping be expired on October 5, 2008 , as her H1 will become effective?
b) or she can use existing H4 stamping to re-enter into United States.
c) or if someone knows whether she needs a valid visa stamping in accordance with her latest immigration status (h1 in this case on oct 5 , 2008) when returning to US in cruise.

Maybe the EXIF data will be helpful though it's not completely accurate, even though I shoot in manual it will read shutter priority. ISO usually 1600 as Josh stated above.
